Notes from Liezl Grobler's diary…

God, why are you holding out on me?

November10

Do you sometimes feel like God’s promises to you are just never going
to be fulfilled? Frustrated to watch
other people receive the things that
you desire and hope for, things that
you know God has also promised you?

When is it going to be your turn?

Well, good news. Those promises are still true, God has definitely not forgotten about you and He still very much desires to fulfill them.

Why then does it feel as though He is holding out on you?

Simple. He wants to build ‘character’ in you, to be able to handle, protect and value what He is going to give you…

I came across this scripture that sums it all up:

“For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away (and enjoy to the full) what is promised.” Hebrews 10:36

To sum it up, the only path to God’s perfect will for our lives and all the wonderful things we know He has promised us, is through “steadfast patience and endurance”.

How do you learn patience and endurance? Through waiting… and having a good attitude while you wait.

If we have not yet received what God has promised, we should maybe check our attitude… Are we really waiting on God with steadfast patience and endurance, or with impatience, jealousy, insecurity and hopelessness? Are we still trusting God while we are waiting?

Let’s not delay our blessings, but rather clean our hearts of any negative attitudes and impatience while we wait on God to fulfill His perfect will in our lives.

It’s really the ONLY way to lay hold of ALL that He has promised us and live complete and happy lives…
